Grenades:

All grenades can be thrown slightly further by holding down the Fire key [Mouse1 Default].
GDF Grenades can be lobbed a shorter distance by hitting Alt-Fire [Mouse2 Default].
You can also use your grenades to harmlessly explode enemy mines.

HE Charge:
To plant a HE Charge, scroll through the Soldier's available weapons and select the HE Charge. Approach the desired target and press left click to place the charge.

 NOTE: If doing an Objective, be sure to look for the destroy icon before placing the charge to ensure you have found the Objective.
 
Once the charge is attached to the target hold the Use Key ("Default F") to arm the charge. The charge will begin flashing and a timer bar will be visible bottom right of the HUD displaying how much time is remaining before detonation. Be sure to secure the location of your HE Charge once planted to ensure an enemy Constructor does not disarm your HE Charge. Once the HE Charge is about to explode clear the area to avoid being killed by its powerful blast.

Supply Drop:
The Medic’s Supply Drop Marker calls in an air-dropped crate which will dispense Health and Ammo packs to any GDF player who uses it. The Supply Drop Marker is a powerful asset, particularly when defending an Objective. Make sure you throw it somewhere all your teammates will be able to see it and make use of it.

Unique Medic Ability:
Medics can also destroy Strogg Spawn Hosts with their Defibrillators. If you don’t want the Strogg to spawn from your fallen comrades, destroy the Spawn Hosts without delay.

Disarming explosives and mines works the same way as repairing, approach the explosive you wish to disarm and equip the repair tool. Use the repair tool on the explosive to disarm it. Note the Engineer can only disarm Trip mines, Proximity mines will blow you up if you approach them.

Mines:
Engineers can only plant three mines at a time. Planting a new mine will remove the oldest mine. To place a mine select a mine from the weapon list and press left click to toss the mine in the desired location. Once the mine is placed it has to be armed with the repair tool. Arm the mine by approaching it until you see the arming icon and hold the Use Key ("Default F") or "Mouse 1" button until the mine is armed. Trip mines can be placed by using alt-fire however they can only be placed in certain locations like doorways and other small passageways.

 

Unique Engineer Ability:
GDF Engineers can construct MG Towers and MG Nests for their teammates.

Targeting Tool:
Once an Artillery Deployable has been placed, find an elevated position looking down on an area you would like to bombard (ideally an area occupied by enemies). Select the Targeting Tool from the weapon menu and toggle the Targeting Tool with the Mouse1 button. Place the crosshair on the desired location and hold Mouse1 until the area is locked on and the artillery bombardment will do the rest.

If you are using a Rocket Artillery bombardment you can move the bombardment target real time as the bombardment is raining in by continuing to hold Mouse1 and point the laser guided Targeting Tool to the new desired target. In addition to real time Rocket targeting, the Targeting Tool can lock-on to enemy vehicles and the rockets will home in and destroy the targeted vehicle.

 Air Strike Marker:
Air Strike Markers function like regular grenades but instead of exploding they release a smoke signal indicating a location to bomb. After a few moments a jet will fly over head dropping a trail of bombs leaving a path of destruction. Ideal for softening up enemy defenses or stalling an enemy offensive. Remember: The Field Ops Artillery and Air Strike Marker share the same energy so you can only choose one type of bombardment at a time.

Unlike all the other Field Ops Artillery, enemy AIT’s can’t block your marker grenade/beacon, in fact the only possible way to counteract it is to go prone on it or drive a vehicle over it, hiding it from your enemy’s Close Air Support/Orbital Bombardment observers. So it may be worth keeping Fire pressed to cook off the grenade/beacon, giving the enemy less time to find and cover it.

Hacking Tool:
Only the GDF Covert Ops can hack Strogg deployables, disabling them for 60 seconds.The Covert Ops can hack objectives and Strogg deployables by approaching the target and holding the Use Key ("Default F") when the hack icon appears. Continue to hold the Use Key (Default F) until the target is fully hacked. Deployables can only be hacked temporarily before they are reactivated.

 Third Eye Camera:
The GDF Covert Ops' Third Eye Camera is a remote camera, a short-range radar, and a bomb. Equip and toss this camera ideally in a high traffic location or a location of strategic importance to ensure enemies will approach. Its recommended the camera be hidden if possible to ensure the enemy doesn't spot the camera and avoid it. Once the camera is placed hide in a safe location and press alt-fire (Default Mouse2) to activate the camera view. Press fire (Default Mouse1) at any time to detonate the camera.

 Smoke Grenade:
Smoke Grenades function like regular grenades. Equip the grenade and press fire to throw it.

Be aware your Smoke Grenade won’t hide you or your teammates or their vehicles from enemy turrets, they can see right through it. So you could use your Smoke Grenades to lure the enemy into range of your turrets.

 EMP Grenade:
EMP Grenade is used to temporarily disable enemy vehicles and deployables. It will also do some damage to infantry.

Frag Grenade
The Frag Grenade is the standard GDF offensive explosive munition. It is effective against Strogg infantry, deployables and vehicles. Keep Fire pressed to throw the Frag Grenade a little further. Hit Alt-Fire to drop the Frag Grenade in front of you.


EMP Grenade
The EMP Grenade is issued to the GDF Covert Ops class to disable Strogg vehicles and deployables. It is particularly useful for knocking out enemy defence turrets, creating a window of opportunity for attacking players to swarm past without harm.

Any Strogg vehicles or deployables caught in the blast area will be disabled for 30 seconds. Strogg infantry will suffer some by it.


SKROGG STUFF

Plasma Launcher
The Plasma Launcher is useful for firing over cover, through doorways and windows and is effective against infantry, deployables and vehicles. The plasma blobs will bounce off surfaces, allowing you to shoot around corners. The arc of the Plasma Launcher comes in handy to damage deployables from behind cover and from quite a range. Careful you don’t fire from too close, or they may bounce back at you.

hrap Grenade
The Shrap Grenade is the standard Strogg tactical explosive device. It is effective against GDF infantry, deployables and vehicles. By using alt-fire, it will act as a sticky grenade


Scrambler Grenade
The Scrambler grenade is used by the Strogg Infiltrator class to disable GDF vehicles and deployables. It is particularly useful for knocking out enemy defence turrets, creating a window of opportunity for attacking players to swarm past without harm.

Spawn Hosts - Only the Technician can create spawn hosts out of dead GDF infantry, but it takes longer to revive then GDF Medics. To create spawn hosts approach dead GDF infantry and hold the Use Key ("Default F") on their corpse from a close proximity. A progress bar will appear and once the GDF infantry is converted a Strogg player can select the spawn host when he comes into contact with it and then activate the spawn location from the limbo menu as a spawn point.


Stroyent Allocation:
Strogg infantry have the unique ability to allocate their Stroyent supplies from their weapon to their health and vice versa [ - / + Default Keys]. This ability is extremely useful when you are about to die or when you are out of ammo. Keep in mind that you loose a fraction of Stroyent with every conversion.

Grenades:
All grenades can be thrown slightly further by holding down the Fire key [Mouse1 Default].
Strogg grenades have an alt fire option [Mouse2 Default] which makes them a sticky grenade sticking to walls and or vehicles.
You can also use your grenades to harmlessly explode GDF mines.

Gravmines:
Constructors can only plant three mines at a time. Planting a new mine will remove the oldest mine. To place a mine select a mine from the weapon list and press left click to toss the mine in the desired location. Once the mine is placed it has to be armed with the Repair Drone. Arm the mine by approaching it until you see the arming icon and hold the Use Key ("Default F") or "Mouse 1" button until the GravMine is armed. GravMines can be placed by using alt-fire however they can only be placed in certain locations like doorways and other small passageways.

Tactical Shield:
The Tactical Shield allows the Oppressor to throw protection down anywhere on the battlefield or indoors for infantry cover. While weapon fire cannot penetrate the shields, friendly and enemy infantry can pass through them with no consequence. To activate the shields select Tactical Shield from the weapons menu and use Mouse1 to deploy one or several.

The Tactical Shield can also be used to provide vital cover for Technicians to revive teammates or create Spawn Hosts, but can also be planted on Strogg vehicles or even around enemy turrets. Tactical Shields last for 40 seconds. A single GDF Frag Grenade will take it down, as long as it's right up against it.

Violator Beacon:
Beacons function like regular grenades but instead of exploding they release a signal indicating a location to destroy. After a few moments a beam from space will blast down leaving a trail of destruction. Ideal for softening up enemy defenses or stalling an enemy offensive.
Remember: The Oppressor Artillery and Violator Beacon share the same energy so you can only choose one type of bombardment at a time.

Unlike all the other Oppressor Artillery, enemy AIT’s can’t block your marker grenade/beacon, in fact the only possible way to counteract it is to go prone on it or drive a vehicle over it, hiding it from your enemy’s Close Air Support/Orbital Bombardment observers. So it may be worth keeping Fire pressed to cook off the grenade/beacon, giving the enemy less time to find and cover it.

Targeting Tool:
Once Artillery has been placed find an elevated position looking down on an area you would like to bombard (ideally an area occupied by enemies). Select the Targeting Tool from the weapon menu and toggle the Targeting Tool with the Mouse1 button. Place the crosshair on the desired location and hold Mouse1 until the area is locked on and the artillery bombardment will do the rest.

If you are using a Plasma Mortar bombardment you can move the bombardment target in real time as the bombardment is raining in by continuing to hold Mouse1 and point the laser guided Targeting Tool to the new desired target. In addition to real time Plasma targeting, the Targeting Tool can lock-on to enemy vehicles and Plasma will home in and destroy the targeted vehicle.

Scrambler Grenade is used to temporarily disable enemy vehicles and deployables. With Alt-Fire the scrambler grenade can be thrown and it will stick to walls and vehicles. It will also do some damage to infantry.

 Hacking Tool:
Only Strogg Infiltrator can hack GDF deployables, disabling them for 60 seconds. The Infiltrator hacks objectives and GDF deployables by approaching the target and holding the Use Key ("Default F") when the hack icon appears. Continue to hold the Use Key ("Default F") until the target is fully hacked. Deployables can only be hacked temporarily before they are reactivated.

Teleporter:
The Infiltrator's Teleporter allows you to instantly escape trouble, or access high vantage points. To use the Teleporter equip the Teleporter pistol from the weapons menu and press fire to place the beacon, now press fire again to automatically teleport to the beacon. If you have already placed the beacon in a location and change your mind deciding to place the beacon in a different location you can, press Alt-Fire to re-arm the Teleporter and fire the beacon again in a new location. Once you use the Teleporter to teleport to the beacon you will need to wait for the Teleporter to recharge.

Special Abilities:
Disguise: The Infiltrator can disguise himself as an enemy infantry by approaching a disabled enemy and holding the Use Key ("Default F") on the enemy body when the disguise icon appears. The Infiltrator will then disguise himself allowing him to mingle undetected with the enemy. Note that attempting to fire your weapons will break your disguise. Only spiking enemies in the back will allow you to keep your disguise.

Backstab: Only the Strogg Infiltrator class can inflict extra Backstab damage with the Spikes.
