I have moved on to other games as I see you have. The main game I play now days is Insurgency, it is a mod off the half life 2 game. and I have joined and different clan, TDB>TheDevilsBrigage..We are a Multi-gameing clan. HEY Man long time no see! MAybe you remember me, but we did have some of the best times back in Q3 on the geezers server. I still miss it!

Funny how it works but JUST as i am posting this, in the last hour ive been playing Q4 online for the first time. Its pretty fun, has a newish modern style to it and i also know that the rest of the other current Vipers here are right into Enemy Territory Quake wars, which i have yet to play online withem.

Hi Guys!  Nice to see you again!   WildThane, we've fragged each other many a time in Q3, Nitro you also!   I ran into another "Old Crow" who is playing COD 5 and remembered fragging me back in Q3.  So, the true diehards to gaming are still fraggin but they are spread out in the games they play.

I think the one aspect of COD 5 that I like the most is its almost Q3 all over again.  The maps are bigger, the weapons and skills are more demanding and the structure is set to make it extrememly challenging, but basically this is a Q3 knockoff which really shines in its complexity.   One on one massive wars are the norm.   Getting fragged from multiple sides while regreting you didn't get to frag in that split second ....   great fun.   I'm working hard to get our server set up, and its game play will be modeled after the server which I frequent the most the [RBN] clan server.  

In this server, the following are the rules... and they are STRICTLY enforced,

No abreviations of profanity

No profanity of any kind

No racial slurs

No sexual comments or jokes

No Running

No Walking without your sights up

NO Blind nades or shooting, you must have seen a muzzle flash or movement BEFORE you toss a nade or shoot.  

No Shooting into smoke/flares  or tossing a nade into smoke/flares unless you can SEE the target or its shooting at you.

The only time you can run is from direct enemy fire to the nearest cover

You may only run to avoid direct enemy fire to the nearest cover

you may not run cover to cover

If you can hear your footsteps your doing it wrong and will be warned then kicked.

So, the result of these impositions on your movement are really excellent gameplay.  The solider must be crouched at all times or when walking upright, must have the sights up on their weapons.   The server requires an admin 24/7 and they ARE THERE.     They will warn, then kick, then ban in a heartbeat.  

What happens is the gameplay changes tremendously.  Instead of running around half cocked like a bunch of kids, you must be crouched and that slows you down so even the worst sniper can drop you in one shot.   You might think this would be a game killer for adults, but its not.    The slow pace means you must be SMARTER then your opponent.  The whole idea is to be slow, deliberate, and when confronted, outthink your enemy and get the kill when both of you can't run, unless under direct fire and then only to cover.   

No running from one cover to another unless under direct fire.

So, when I first started playing it, the constant reminders scrolling on the side of the screen were distracting, and the constant vocal admonishments to guilty players were a distraction, but as I learned the reasons and the result, it was interesting.  I wanted to see how this really worked.   It works great!  They have one of the most popular servers in gaming.  Almost always full.   New members applying constantly and they are strict about their bans, you must have a darn good reason or really good apology to get unbanned, and the second ban is permanent.
